What is the significance of continuing education in an expanding field of art and culture? In what way does advanced training help to shape the connection between the spheres of art and professional activity in the arts and culture sector? What are the qualifications and competencies that need to be supported? How is such continuing education to be conceived? How can this form of training be analyzed and described in terms of educational science?
In order to answer these and other questions, the Bundeskademie für Kulturelle Bildung Wolfenbüttel ("Federal Academy for Cultural Education Wolfenbüttel") held a symposium on March 22, 2023 on the topic "Between Passion, Earning a Living and Search Movements - Scientific Professional Development for Art and Culture". As part of the conference, Prasanna Oommen hosted a panel discussion with Dr. Claudia Zawiska aus der Abteilung Initiativen für die Berufsbildung des Bundesinstituts für Berufsbildung in Bonn (BIBB) ("Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training in Bonn"), artist, moderator and author Fatima Caliskan Fatima Caliskan and Director of BA Wolfenbüttel ("Federal Academy Wolfenbüttel") Prof. Dr. Vanessa Reinwand-Weiss.
