In memory of the deportation of 17,000 Jews during the so-called Polenaktion (Polish action) and the large-scale rescue effort of the Kindertransport (children’s transport) in 1938/39, the Jawne Memorial and Educational Center created the exhibition “Children depart 5.13 pm”. The title is a quote from a telegram sent by Jawne Director Erich Klibansky, who organized the rescue of schoolchildren from the Rhineland. Philine Lissner supported the project group as an editor.
