Moderation of the "It's TechTime" for the platform nextmuseum.io

The participatory platform nextmuseum.io is a cooperation between NRW Forum and Museum Ulm, which together ask what the museum of the future should look like. For nextmuseum.io, Prasanna Oommen has taken over the moderation of the four-part late night series format "It's TechTime". The last Tech Time will take place on 19.05.22 at the NRW Forum.

"It's TechTime - Multisensory Journeys"

The first TechTime was all about multi-sensory travel - from scent experiences to a virtual reality flight device.

Moderator Prasanna Oommen guided the audience through the event online: Experts from various fields presented new technologies in a clear and amusing way, tested digital prototypes and presented technical experiments and tools.  The audience was not only able to ask questions and exchange ideas in the Q&A session afterwards, but was also involved again and again. The artists Mattia Casalegno, Vesela Stanoeva and Robert Müller-Grünow from Scent Communication were also present.

"It's TechTime - AI & Art"

On 4 March 2021, it was off to Ulm! Prasanna Oommen spoke with the artists Nora Al-Badri from Berlin, the Obvious Kollektiv from Paris and Yannick Hofmann from ZKM Karlsruhe at the hybrid event.

This time, questions were addressed such as: What do the growing applications of artificial intelligence mean for art and museums? And: Can AI create art?

„It‘s TechTime“ Paradise Edition

The third TechTime led - as always with full commitment - to utopias and dystopias. Prasanna Oommen spoke with curators and artists from the exhibitions "Welcome to Paradise" of the NRW-Forum Düsseldorf and "Artificial plants - Please water!", on view at the Museum Ulm.

Both exhibitions were co-curated via nextmuseum.io and supported by the Digital Fund of the Federal Cultural Foundation.
