Diversity Cultural Policy Hosting Panel Discussion Participation Event

Moderation of the Kick-Off of the Zentrum für Kulturelle Teilhabe

Good news for more diversity in culture: On 8 December 2021, the Centre for Cultural Participation Baden-Württemberg was opened, due to the pandemic in a purely digital kick-off event. The centre is a new contact point for cultural institutions and actors in the state of Baden-Württemberg. The aim is to network and learn from each other in order to advance cultural participation together.

Prasanna Oommen moderated the digital kick-off. The heart of the event was a panel discussion with experts in cultural education: Ulrike Stöck (artistic director of the Junges Nationaltheater Mannheim), Julia Hagenberg (head of the education department, Kunstsammlung NRW) and Bassam Ghazi (artistic director Stadt:Kollektiv at the Schauspielhaus Düsseldorf). Sarah Metzler (Head of the Office of the Landesverband der Museen zu Berlin e. V. (LMB)) is unable to attend due to illness.

State Secretary Petra Olschowski and the new director of the centre, Dr Birte Werne, gave the welcome address and were interview partners.
